LEON COUNTY SHERIFF WALT McNEIL UPDATES NEBA MEMBERS AT AUGUST 24TH LUNCHEON

Sheriff Walt McNeil provided the current status of crime and prevention efforts in Leon County, as well as an overview of some department programs, during the August 24th NEBA luncheon. Overall, the county has seen a decline in many categories of crime. Sheriff McNeil attributed much of the decline to the public’s participation in simply locking their home and car doors at night. Sheriff McNeil also went into great detail about his “All in Leon” program where, by “working together, we can make Leon County safer.”

Sheriff McNeil was more than generous with his time at the podium and took numerous engaging questions from NEBA members that covered everything from Covid to crime-related matters, and employment.
