Call to Action - Citizens' Budget Workshop - Monday, June 20th, 6-10 PM, City Hall

CALL TO ACTION!

On behalf of the NEBA Board, we ask that you, your family, your friends and your employees show up at City Hall for a Citizens’ Budget Workshop that is being hosted by NEBA, the Budget Hawks and Citizens for Responsible Spending.

WHAT: Citizens’ Budget Workshop - PUBLIC INVITED

DATE: Monday, June 20th

TIME: 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

PLACE: City Hall

According to a joint press release titled: Coalition of Citizen Groups to hold Citizens’ Budget Workshop at City Hall June 20, 2016, the purpose of the Public Meeting is to “offer an alternative budget…and show how the citizens’ budget will put more money back into the pockets of the citizens of Tallahassee.”

This “budget workshop will allow for citizens’ dialogue and input that will not be limited to 3 minutes,” said Barney Bishop, president of NEBA and Chair of Citizens for Responsible Spending.

“The groups chose to hold their workshop at the same time as the City’s budget roll out to demonstrate the dramatic difference between the two budgets,” said NEBA Board member Catherine Baer.

“Let your voices finally be heard.  Attend and see how the “citizens budget” will return our property taxes to a lower rate and still maintain a level of service that helps move the community forward,” said Russell Price of the Budget Hawks.
