NEBA Forum: Elizabeth Emmanuel, CEO of Downtown Improvement Authority
June 22, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Register for our June luncheon to catch the latest developments at the Downtown Improvement Authority. Elizabeth Emmanuel, CEO of the organization, will be our guest speaker.
A native of Tallahassee, Elizabeth Emmanuel serves as the CEO of the Downtown Improvement Authority. She is an alumna of Leadership Tallahassee Class 32, a past KCCI Catalyst, and one of the 2020 Women You Need To Know. An avid volunteer, she currently serves as a board member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, The Governors Club of Tallahassee, and Leadership Tallahassee.
Elizabeth spent nearly a decade working in the funeral industry as a licensed funeral director and embalmer and ended her career at Bevis, also serving as the Director of Community Engagement. Prior to the Downtown Improvement Authority, she worked for The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce as a program coordinator for Leadership Tallahassee.
Early on, Elizabeth developed an appreciation for placemaking and community service valuing the experiences and the community servants that make them possible, as it is often teams of volunteers that build thriving communities. She has a great appreciation for business owners and believes they should have ample support and advocacy- especially those who choose downtown. Elizabeth is truly #TallahasseeProud and wants to see our community embrace both its history and its potential as a cultural, economic, and political driver.
Acknowledging barriers in urban housing, she and her husband recently outgrew their downtown condo, thanks to the addition of their pandemic baby, Hal. She now resides downtown, with her husband Christopher and their son.
