NEBA Forum Recap: Bobby Carbonell of Veterans Florida

The Network of Entrepreneurs and Business Advocates (NEBA) held our monthly membership meeting on August 22. The featured program was Bobby Carbonell, Executive Director, Veterans Florida. Veterans Florida was established by the Florida Legislature in 2014 as part of the FL GI Bill to serve as an innovative corporation to encourage recently retired or separated military personnel to make Florida their permanent residence.

Mr. Carbonell explained that businesses in Florida that hire and train veterans can get reimbursement for that training (50% of training costs up to $8,000 per new, full-time veteran employee). Veterans Florida also helps match veterans up with employers through their career portal and are helping train veteran entrepreneurs.
